Resveratrol is a compound found in red grape skins. Only 2% of oral resveratrol is absorbed as pure resveratrol. Resveratrol is metabolised in the small intestine in to resveratrol glucuronide and resveratrol sulfate, which makes it possible to get about 50% of the oral taken dose absorbed by active transport. Due to the liposomal encapsulation this 2% absorption has been increased.
